Have landed in the Netherlands, still all in one piece! Aside from a bit of a rocky landing due to strong winds here, the plane trip over went well. I lucked out with empty seats on either side of me, so I was able to sprawl out and actually catch a few hours of sleep on the seven-hour flight before landing in Amsterdam.
The weather is pretty stormy here today, but I am told it will improve later in the week. So far I have gotten a tour of my hosts’ house and the harbour they own, went grocery shopping with Marjan, and am now sitting with some chocolate and tea. Currently trying to stay awake so that I can go to bed at a normal Dutch time and throw off the jet lag after tonight.
