The snow continued to fall overnight and led to my boss calling off the morning rides. With a free morning on our hands, the barn girls headed into Jasper town for brunch!
The drive into town. It felt like we were in the middle of winter:
From town, some of the clouds were just beginning to lift off the mountains and we could see them again. I’ve seen the mountains with a little bit of snow before, but never this covered in snow. It was beautiful!
View from the schoolyard. Whistler’s Mountain is in the middle left of this picture:
Whistler’s Mountain. That small grey building near the top is the Jasper SkyTram station:
Signal Mountain, normally very green, all covered in snow. We could see this one from the restaurant:
We didn’t spend too much time outside as it was still quite cold. I snapped a few pictures and then we hurried inside to make it to brunch happy hour ($5 mimosas!).
My meal – two eggs, bacon, grilled avocado, crispy potatoes. (And a mimosa).
Not bad for a morning that was supposed to be spent at work!
Everyone headed back up to the barn for the afternoon. The sun is out now and beginning to melt the snow, so trails should be back to normal soon. Till then, I’ll be taking pictures of the pretty mountains…
Enjoy the beauty!!! And the brunch! Hey: Beauty and the brunch!!

LOL! That’s a good one – wish I’d thought of that for my blog title!
