Stargazing in Jasper

A few weeks ago, me and a friend decided we wanted to take some photos of the night sky.

In Jasper, in the summer, that means waiting until the sky gets dark – which can take a while.

Waiting for the sky to darken, out on the footbridge to Pyramid Island:

The night we went out was in mid-June, and we had to wait until well past midnight before the sky was dark enough to see stars. It didn’t get dark enough to take these photos until around 2AM, by which point it was very cold, dark, and a fog began to roll in. But the views were worth it:
